Why does nothing happen when I tap?
Usually the phone is asleep, tag reading is off, or a thick case is in the way; fix those and tap again, slowly.
- Wake your phone and keep the screen on.
- On Android, check tag reading is switched on. It sits next to contactless payments in Settings, under Connections or Connected devices.
- On some older iPhones, open Control Centre and choose the tag reader first.
- Take off a thick or metal phone case.
- Move the phone slowly across the object. The tag may be in one corner.
- Close the camera or your payment wallet if either is open, then try again.
